In this series Susan challenges herself with a monochromatic palette, demonstrating a breakthrough in her transformation from realism to purely abstract expressions of nature. The works mark a shift in Susan’s approach to painting. With formal training in classical landscapes, she refocuses her eye to translating the tactility, color, and movement experienced while in nature.
