Painted for her solo exhibition at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing in 2018, the Synthesis series is a collection of thick, textured paintings inspired by the vibrant colors of Swartz’s garden. Each piece is predominantly monochrome, allowing the texture to be the center of attention and an undeniable sense of depth to emerge from the sculptural layers.
