  • At the front of the gallery hangs the titular painting, Ambient Burst, a vivid forest of contrasting tones: radiant yellows, fiery reds and oranges collide with expressive strokes of turquoise. Adjacent are three paintings from the Rhapsody series. These monochromatic canvases play with geometry, presenting rectangular forms adorned with swirling organic acrylics. Here, Swartz expertly harnesses the power of a singular color, inviting viewers to delve into a rich tapestry of texture and movement. Each brushstroke becomes a portal, allowing the viewer to cycle through a spectrum of emotions and experiences, absorbing the profound influence of color in an engaging dialogue with the artwork.

Creation 7 is a striking stacked diptych, where wide horizontal striations of complementary colors—creamy yellow layered over rich aubergine—invite contemplation. In this body of work, Swartz reflects on the interconnectedness of life and her creative process, drawing inspiration from themes of beauty, growth, and transformation.

The horizontal emphasis of Creation 7 contrasts with the vertical orientation of Nature's Bouquet 74. Here, a deep purple background provides a sense of depth, allowing vibrant, petal-like forms to bloom forth, radiant and full of life. This juxtaposition not only highlights Susan’s exploration of color and texture but also enriches her meditation on the cycles of creation, making each work a unique expression of her artistic journey.
