Susan Swartz’s work made a robust debut in Asia through the final iteration of her touring exhibition Personal Path. Showcased at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) Museum in Beijing, China, the exhibition spotlighted bold new works from Swartz’s Breaking Away, Spectrum, and Synthesis series, building upon her exploration of nature through abstraction and color. The show opened in concurrence with the proclamation of Utah-China Cultural Friendship Day and the gifting of Swartz’s work Shimmering Light to the US Embassy in China on behalf of Zions Bank and the State of Utah.

Not only did Personal Path mark a growing relationship between China and Utah, it also catalyzed a discussion of abstract art and creative expression between two distinct cultures.

Curated by Dr. Dieter Ronte.
